I Went in Search of the Soul

🪞 "I Went in Search of the Soul"

A Satirical Inner Dialogue (inspired by the Gita)

I went in search of Soul and God divine,
But found a ghost in a cave-like shrine.

Eyes all wild, face drooping low,
As if it fed on forgotten glow.

I asked, “Are you the sacred flame?
Are you the Soul by another name?”
It burst out laughing with a sneer,
“Kid, what brought you snooping here?”

“I’m no soul, no divine spark,
I’m your old ghost — ego, pride, desires dark!

Your robes of wisdom, your saintly speech,
You learned them all from me — you preach, but don't reach.”**

“You're no seeker — you’re an Insta sage,
Posting ‘nirvana’ on every page.
Hashtag ‘OM’ on your daily feed,
While inside you rot from unchecked greed.”

“You recite the Gita but never absorb,
Mistake real silence for a perfect garb.
You chant of detachment, preach desire's end,
But your cravings multiply around each bend.”

“You’re no sage, no realized man,
You hide from yourself — that’s your grand plan.
You blame me — your inner ghost —
While you chase likes, reels, and virtual posts!”

“Yes, I’m your ego, own me first,
Before you try to quench the spiritual thirst.
Face your cravings, don’t just suppress —
Real ‘yoga’ means cleaning your mess.”

“Desires don’t end by loud renunciation,
But through honest, conscious realization.
Satisfy them, know them, watch them fade —
That’s the Gita’s subtle blade.”

So I bowed to the ghost, no longer at war,
He grinned — and vanished into my core.
No temple, no chant, no saffron robe —
Just me and truth in silent probe.

And thus began my truest path —
Beyond the guilt, the shame, the wrath.
Not in denial, nor in fake delight —
But in living my shadows with honest light.
